Space & Christmas
I love Christmas!
And I love Space!
Those two themes are generally not tossed together, and why not? Now, I know there are Christmas stories, movies, and books that incorporate fantasy elements, and fairy tales, but there aren't very many rocket-ship, other-worldly, or alien renditions.
Sure there are specific tendencies to associate Christmas with snow, and cold, and sledding, but Christmas happens in all different cultures and places; why not space?
To remedy the problem of there being little to no literature combining Space and Christmas, I thought that it would be fun to have a special Christmas contest this year.
The "Space-y Christmas" Writing Contest
I am calling for all you aspiring writers, and newly established writers to submit a short story about Christmas and Space. It can be fiction or non-fiction, but it has to be majorly entertaining and unique.
12 Submissions will be featured here on my blog, "Way Out There," and on my social media accounts over the 12 Days of Christmas. I will also post mini author bios, pics, and social media links for those lucky winners.
So I encourage you to think outside the box and combine Christmas with Space in whatever way you want to. And most of all remember to have fun. For all the details see below:
Oh and If you Need Help.....
I'd be happy to provide any support if you'd like to submit a story but don't know where to start. Just email me at firstname.lastname@example.org, with your name, contact info, and a bit of an idea of the story that you have so far, and I'd be happy to help.
